Made with Bambino Atta, jaggery, and sesame seeds, this burfi is not only tasty but also packed with nutritional benefits. Follow this simple recipe to make your own Til ki burfi with jaggery at home.

Methods:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Bambino Atta
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds (til)
  • 1 cup jaggery (gud), grated
  • 1/4 cup cashew nuts
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Nuts for garnish (optional)

Method

  • Heat a pan on medium flame and dry roast the sesame seeds until they turn golden brown and start to crackle. Set aside
  • In the same pan, add ghee followed by the Bambino Atta, and roast it on low flame until it turns golden brown and emits a pleasant aroma. This should take about 10-15 minutes
  • In a separate pan, add water and grated jaggery. Heat it on medium flame until the jaggery completely dissolves and forms a syrup. To check the consistency, take a drop of the syrup and drop it into a bowl of water. If it forms a soft ball, it's ready
  • Add the roasted sesame seeds and cardamom powder to the roasted Bambino Atta. Mix well
  • Slowly pour the jaggery syrup into the atta mixture, stirring continuously to avoid any lumps. Mix until everything is well combined
  • Grease a tray with ghee and pour the mixture into it. Spread it evenly using a spatula
  • Garnish with chopped nuts if desired. Let it cool down to room temperature, then refrigerate for about an hour to set
  • Once set, cut the Til Gud Atta Burfi into desired shapes. Enjoy your homemade Til ki burfi with jaggery with family and friends!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Til Gud Atta Burfi and when is it made?
Til Gud Atta Burfi is a traditional Indian sweet made during Makar Sankranti. It is prepared with sesame seeds (til), jaggery (gud), and Bambino Atta, representing the warmth and sweetness of the harvest festival.
Can I replace jaggery with sugar in til burfi?
While you can use sugar as a substitute, jaggery gives til burfi its authentic flavour and natural sweetness. Jaggery also adds iron and minerals, making this Bambino Atta-based sweet healthier than sugar versions.
How do I prevent til burfi from crumbling?
Ensure the jaggery syrup reaches the right consistency (soft ball stage). Mix quickly with the roasted Bambino Atta and sesame seeds while hot, press firmly into a tray, and let it set for at least 30 minutes before cutting.
