Frequently Asked Questions

What is gochujang and where can I buy it in India?
Gochujang is a Korean fermented red chili paste with a sweet, spicy, and savory flavour. It is available in Indian supermarkets, Asian food stores, and online on Amazon and BigBasket. A little goes a long way in this Bambino Macaroni pasta recipe.
How spicy is gochujang pasta?
Gochujang pasta with Bambino Macaroni can range from mild to very spicy depending on the amount used. Start with 1 tablespoon for mild heat and adjust to taste. Cream or butter in the sauce helps balance the spice level.
Can I substitute gochujang with something else if I can't find it?
If gochujang is unavailable, mix sriracha sauce with a little miso paste, or use red chili paste with a pinch of sugar to mimic the sweet-spicy-fermented flavour. Your Bambino Macaroni gochujang pasta will still be delicious.
