# Falooda Recipe at Home with Bambino Vermicelli

**By Bambino Pasta** · 2026-09-30

Creamy, chilled and colourful, falooda is one of India's favourite summer desserts. Layers of rose syrup, basil seeds, vermicelli, chilled milk and ice cream make every spoonful a mix of flavours and textures.

Here's an easy falooda recipe using [Bambino Vermicelli](https://bambinopasta.in/collections/vermicelli) that you can put together at home in around 20 minutes.

### Methods

**Ingredients**

- ½ cup [Bambino Vermicelli](https://bambinopasta.in/collections/vermicelli)
- 2 cups chilled milk
- 2 tbsp rose syrup
- 2 tbsp basil seeds/sabja seeds
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1 tbsp sugar, optional
- 1 tbsp chopped pistachios
- 1 tbsp chopped almonds
- Rose petals for garnish, optional

  **Method**

- Soak the basil seeds in approximately ½ cup water for 10–15 minutes until they swell. Drain excess water.
- Bring water to a boil and cook Bambino Vermicelli until soft while still retaining its shape.
- Drain immediately and rinse with cold water. Set aside to cool completely.
- If you prefer a sweeter falooda, stir sugar into the chilled milk until dissolved.
- Chill all the ingredients before assembling.

**How to Layer Falooda**

For the classic falooda experience, the order matters.

- Start with rose syrup at the bottom of a tall glass.
- Add a layer of soaked basil seeds, followed by the cooked Bambino Vermicelli.
- Slowly pour over the chilled milk
- Top with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Finish with chopped pistachios, almonds and a drizzle of rose syrup.
- Serve immediately with a long spoon.
- Kulfi Falooda Variation
- Replace the vanilla ice cream with sliced malai or kesar pista kulfi.
- Add the kulfi over the vermicelli and finish with rose syrup, nuts and soaked basil seeds.

**Make It Ahead**

The vermicelli can be cooked ahead and refrigerated in an airtight container. Toss it with a tiny amount of neutral oil or keep it lightly moistened to prevent sticking.

Soaked basil seeds can also be refrigerated separately. For the best texture, assemble the falooda only when you're ready to serve so the layers remain distinct.
